"Our lives are at once ordinary and mythical...We are important and our lives are important, magnificent really, and their details are worthy to be recorded. This is how writers must think, this is how we must sit down with pen in hand. We were here; we are human beings; this is how we lived. Let it be known, the earth passed before us. Our details are important. Otherwise, if they are not, we can drop a bomb and it doesn't matter." (Goldberg 47)

Why I Do What I Do
o
People wonder what possesses me to love working with students who have emotional and behavioral issues. I've thought a lot about this and I know it is because I see myself in each student that walks through my door. Perhaps my favorite part of teaching is seeing students become intrinsically motivated to succeed. The following video gives some insight into my career decision. I use it on this site because it is a source for much of my personal writing and reflections.
